Lord Vane leaves open what Dracula locks, and gets near the same effect only Vane isn't interrupted or interrupting. Things are certainly heating up, not in the way I thought it would. Not sure Father Ardelian really believes his 'just a dream' explanation.

The real question here is if the ruins make you gay and horny or if Father Ardelian is just that susceptible.

โ€œLord Vane leaves open what Dracula locksโ€ - youโ€™ve hit on one of the main things going on in my head when writing this book

personally I think Lord Vane is right and that was probably all a normal dream brought on by sudden-onset sleep miasma or whatever

Loved, loved, loved the description of the cave and the chamber! I was there! It gave Lovecraftโ€™s โ€œThe Rats in the Wallsโ€ vibes. Good job!!๐Ÿ”ฅ

It's funny how, when Victor approaches what he thinks will be the seat of evil in Whithern Hall, he ends up face to face with nothing more than his own desire. It seems to echo his earlier dream when he was the demon in the confessional tormenting himself, only this time Lord Vane is there. I'm of two minds about whether or not it was just a dream - I'm not sure a dream version of Lord Vane (or the demon that put the so-called dream into Victor's mind acting as Lord Vane) would apologise like he did at the end. Either way, I can't wait to see how Father A will face Lord Vane after this. Great work as always!
