I like the subtle battle going on between Father Ardelian and Lord Vane, very notable contrast from Dracula. Curious what plans Ardelian is going to come up with. I liked the atmosphere of the last entry for this chapter.
Maybe I'm just gullible as all hell, but I'm starting to get the impression that Lord Vane is a genuinely troubled soul, and I can't help but feel sorry for him. This chapter also feels like it's one I'll re-read when the story is complete and see all sorts of foreshadowing that I can't pick up on right now. I can't wait to find out what's keeping Lord Vane here in the first place, and how Victor intends to get Lord Vane to "willingly submit." Might be my favourite chapter so far!
psa the patreon content is SO worth it 🙌🏻
I try my best!
the man loves a sailor!

I go crazy for this kind of game playing lol. Thank you! :)
Oh ! It's getting really interesting!
I am curious about that being-tethered to the castle thing. And also what he said on the dock !
😉
“i find fresh lilies in my room almost daily”
quick google search: “in victorian flower language, lilies represent innocence, purity, and *fertility*”
ON GOD, LORD VANE?
“[…] which I can maneuver myself into a position where he will willingly submit” ayo?
"He strews my path with minor temptations: drink, rich food, flattering words."
My dear Father, that is not a demon. That is husband material 😂

Having grown up near the shores of many beaches, I feel Victor so well. Sailor men are VERY intriguing.
